At the end of the day, especially when it had been a busy one, all I want to do is lie down on my cozy bed and fall right asleep. The only thing that keeps me from doing that right away is the thought of all the dirt and pollution that are itching to form pimples on my face and body. This in mind, I resist the urge to skip the step of removing my makeup and cleansing my face. Just because I don’t get pimples on my eyes doesn’t mean that I can neglect them.
I have sensitive skin and sensitive eyes as well, so I take extra care in removing all my makeup including my eye makeup. We are all in search of cleansing products that do their jobs quickly but thoroughly. For more than a year now, I have been using L’Oréal Dermo-Expertise Gentle Lip & Eye Make-up Remover.
L’Oréal describes it as:
” Eye Makeup Remover Waterproof removes eye makeup instantly with a gentle, oil-free formula. Cleans delicate eye area without leaving a greasy film. Dermatologist-tested and safe for contact lens wearers.”
It is specially formulated to provide effective cleansing but is gentle enough to be used by people with sensitive eyes.
Great for me! It has two separate layers, so you’ll have to shake the bottle first before using, to combine them.
The blue layer is responsible for effectively removing waterproof eye makeup. The clear layer is added to soothe the eye area while cleansing.
It is a gentle, oil-free formula that cleans your delicate eye area without leaving a greasy film.

Performance
It does a great job in removing my waterproof eyeliner and eyeshadows, which can be comparable to Chanel Demaquillant Yeux Intense Gentle Biphase Eye Makeup Remover.
It’s also effective in removing my high-end mascaras like Chanel Inimitable Extreme and Diorshow.
Personal Experience
However, when it comes to removing my waterproof mascaras like K-Palette 1Day Lash Perm mascara, I need to use a bit more of the L’Oréal product and let it stay for a bit longer on top of my closed eyes before I rub them gently down.
In order for it to work properly, what I do is put about half a teaspoon of the remover into a cotton pad. This is after shaking the bottle to mix the blue and clear layers together.
Then, with the eyes closed, I press it gently on top of my closed eye for about 5 to 10 seconds. I then rub it gently in a downward motion until all of my eye makeup is removed.
I use 1 cotton pad for each eye, because if I use the same cotton pad for the other eye. It’s already full of makeup from the first eye and I think that it will be less effective and my other eye would feel a bit neglected.
I seldom use this now for my lips because it stings a little, but I have tried it to remove my long-lasting lipsticks before, and it quickly gets the job done.
Final Words
Hmmmm… maybe I should use this for my lips again. I’ll just have to remember to use a teeny bit amount so as not to irritate my ever-so-sensitive-and-dry lips.
For the very affordable price of Php 395, it is one of the drugstore products that are really effective.
I buy mine from Robinsons Department Store, but it is available at other department stores and most supermarkets as well.
